What is service of process?
Service of process is the formal procedure of delivering legal documents, such as a summons and complaint, to a person or entity being sued or involved in a court case. This legally required notice ensures that the receiving party (the defendant or respondent) is officially aware of the legal action against them and has the opportunity to respond and defend themselves, upholding the constitutional right to due process
What does a process server do?
A process server is a neutral third party who formally delivers legal documents to individuals involved in a court case to ensure they are aware of the legal actions against them. This procedure, known as "service of process," is a crucial part of the legal system, as it upholds the constitutional right to due process, ensuring all parties have an opportunity to defend themselves in court.
How many times do you attempt service at an address?
For each hired job, we make up to three attempts to serve the person or entity. At each attempt, we don’t just knock on the door and leave. We vary the times of day—early mornings, late evenings, weekends. We have a reputation for our persistence, our investigative work on site, communication with neighbors, gathering of vehicle license plate numbers, and other strategies that have made us successful.
What types of legal documents does The Westfall Group serve?
We have served all kinds of legal documents to a wide range of clientele. Some documents we serve, but are not limited to: Subpoenas, Summons/Complaints, Civil, Garnishments, Evictions, Protection Orders, Small Claims, etc.
What if I have two addresses and I’m not sure which address is the right one?
You will need to determine which address is most likely to be the accurate address for finding the person to be served. If the address is not valid, you can decide if you wish to start a new serve order at the second different address. We charge by the address, so each new address incurs a separate serve charge. We also offer SKIP TRACING to help assist you in your needs
